HTC 10 evo Launched: Price, Release Date, Specifications, and More
HIGHLIGHTS
HTC 10 evo is a global variant of the HTC Bolt
It has been priced at TWD 17,990 (approximately Rs. 38,500) for the 32GB
It will be going on sale in Taiwan
HTC has unveiled the new HTC 10 evo smartphone in Taiwan. The new HTC 10-series smartphone has been also listed on the company’s UK site. The HTC 10 evo is the global variant of the Sprint-exclusive HTC Bolt which was launched recently in the US.

Much like the HTC Bolt, the HTC 10 evo will be available in Gunmetal, Silver, and Gold colours. The smartphone is now available to pre-order in Taiwan from the company’s E-Store. It has been priced at TWD 17,990 (approximately Rs. 38,500) for the 32GB variant while the 64GB variant has been priced at TWD 19,900 (approximately Rs. 43,000). The company website confirms that the HTC 10 evo will start shipping in Taiwan from November 28. Unfortunately, there is no word when the smartphone will be available in UK, or mention of its UK pricing.

One of the biggest highlights of the HTC 10 evo is it packs USB Type C-enabled headphones. The HTC 10 evo smartphone also comes with support for HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio.
The HTC 10 evo smartphone, similar to the HTC Bolt, features a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and sports a water-resistant aluminium build. Running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, HTC 10 evo comes with features like split-screen view, free unlimited photo storage with Google Photos app, and inbuilt Google Duo video calling app. The handset sports fingerprint scanner below the display which is claimed to unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds.
One of the biggest questionable hardware choices made by HTC for the HTC 10 evo (and the HTC Bolt) is putting the date Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 under the hood, which is known to be responsible for heating issues with many smartphones. It packs 3GB of RAM and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 2TB).

It sports a 16-megapixel rear camera which comes with OIS (optical image stabilisation), 4K video recording, and PDAF (phase detection autofocus). There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera on-board as well and the smartphone also features screen flash. The HTC 10 evo packs a 3200mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging technology.

Final Fantasy XV Has an Early Release Date, Ending Streamed on YouTube

Final Fantasy XV Has an Early Release Date, Ending Streamed on YouTube

Final Fantasy XV Has an Early Release Date, Ending Streamed on YouTube
HIGHLIGHTS
Final Fantasy XV is available in regions such as South America
The game’s official release date is November 29
Its ending has been posted on YouTube
The release date of Final Fantasy XV is November 29. And like nearly every big console game we’ve seen this year, the game has found it on the shelves in a host of regions prior to that. A little more than a week prior to the day, gamers in Peru, Argentina, and the UAE are already playing it. Unconfirmed reports have suggested those in the USA have got it early as well.

(Also see: Final Fantasy XV Day One Patch Details Revealed; Suggests Game on Disc Is Incomplete)

And while the game has a reportedly long playthrough time, it seems that eager fans have already finished it. Going as far as to streaming its ending on YouTube only for publisher Square Enix to take it down.

For a game that’s been in development for close to a decade, you’d think Square Enix would take more care to prevent early leaks like this. However this doesn’t seem to be case.
ffxv street date break UAE ffxv

We won’t be surprised to see the game available early in other markets soon enough. So much so that countries like India where role-playing games (RPGs) aren’t as popular as they are in the West, should see the game available well ahead of release.

Earlier in the year, Final Fantasy XV game director Hajime Tabata suggested that the game would come to PC.
(Also see: Final Fantasy XV Release Date Delayed. Here’s Why.)

“I’m quite positive about the idea of developing a PC version, but I would like to make a very different project if possible,” Tabata told French video gaming site JeuxVideo, which was translated by Nova Crystallis. “The reason I’m interested is that a PC version would propel the game to another technical level.”

“I have in mind a version of Final Fantasy XV that is more technically developed. This version could incorporate things that we were forced to abandon because of the limitations of home consoles. With the PC, this would be an opportunity to release a version far superior in terms of quality and tech.”

(Also see: Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo Left Us Surprised)

While PC fans of Final Fantasy will be glad to hear they haven’t been forgotten by Square Enix, Tabata said it would take a while as they aren’t interested in doing a “simple port”.

“That said, if we choose to develop this project, the development will start from scratch by doing research of what would be the best technology to use. It might not be a simple port of the console version,” he added.

Don Bradman Cricket 17 Release Date for PC Announced; May Not Be Available on Disc
HIGHLIGHTS
Don Bradman Cricket 17’s PC release date is January 22
The game will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One on December 22
The PC version is probably digital only
If you thought you could play Don Bradman Cricket 17 on the PC at the same time as it hits the PS4 and Xbox One, think again. Developer Big Ant Studios has confirmed that the PC version of the game has been delayed to January 22.

“We have built completely new batting, bowling and fielding mechanics based on player feedback,” Big Ant Studios CEO, Ross Symons said in a prepared statement. “With Don Bradman 17 releasing right in the heart of the Aussie cricket season, we’re looking forward to players recreating the classic moments of the summer of cricket in their homes.”

(Also see: Don Bradman Cricket 17 Price in India and Release Date Confirmed)

“We were overwhelmed by the success of our first run at Don Bradman Cricket,” Symons added. “To this day players from around the world play it daily, whether they are simulating their favourite test team matchups, or playing games with as little as one over each side. We think they’re going to love the enhanced career mode, refined on-field mechanics, and enhanced visuals and animation. After all, many of the changes came as a direct result of feedback from our most dedicated fans.”

“The first Don Bradman Cricket game did a wonderful job of reflecting the heritage of The Don, and giving cricket fans around the world an authentic and accurate rendition of the sport on their gaming consoles,” Rina Hore from the Bradman Foundation said. “We’re looking forward to seeing how fans respond to this year’s greatly enhanced version.”

(Also see: Don Bradman Cricket Review: If Cricket Is a Religion, This Is Prayer)

Furthermore, it appears that Big Ant could be following the footsteps of bigger publishers like Ubisoft and EA by not having a disc version of the game available at retail for PC. Reason being, a press release from the studio mentions a retail and digital release of the game on the PS4 and Xbox One. All that’s said for PC is that it would be available on Steam a month later.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Has an Early Release Date in the UK

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare is already on sale
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s official release date is November 4
  • This hasn’t stopped copies from being sold early

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is out on November 4. Unless of course you’re in the UK. Retailer CEX – which specialises in used gadgets and games, has wrangled early copies for sale. Albeit for a princely sum of around Rs. 7,337.

“ Perks of working in CEX! 3 days early who wants to im selling for £90! Brand new! No codes used! Just opens seal!” exclaimed a description on an image posted on Instagram by user verace_ridz.

The picture is that of the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare which includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered – an HD re-release of 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

This isn’t the first time CEX has had a game available for sale ahead of its official release. Earlier in the year, Uncharted 4 could be purchased two weeks ahead of time. Later Sony stated the copies for sale were stolen.

With the game due on November 4, it’s unlikely that India will see an early release. Activision’s distributor World Wide CD ROM is known for running a tight ship, particularly for popular titles such as this.

Nonetheless, if you prefer getting it digitally, you can pre-load Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on the PS4 and Xbox One right now. There’s been no announcement of when it will be available for download on the PC, but according to some you can expect to download it from November 1, 10am PST (10:30pm IST) onwards. This is when the Steam store updates globally, and would put it on par with the pre-load of previous COD games.

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection Release Date and Price Leaked

Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection Release Date and Price Leaked

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection Release Date and Price Leaked
HIGHLIGHTS
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection may be available on November 17
It contains three games featuring popular protagonist Ezio
The trilogy will grace the PS4 and Xbox One
A couple of weeks ago it was discovered that Ubisoft was working on a remaster called Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection. It would contain Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – three games starring the franchise’s most popular protagonist, Ezio.

Today, Amazon Italy has listed a release date for it. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection will be able from November 17 for a price of 50.82 Euros (around Rs. 3,800). If this pricing is accurate, you can expect it to be available in India for Rs. 2,999 or Rs. 3,499 which is what remasters usually go for in the country.

Earlier in the year Ubisoft stated that Assassin’s Creed would be taking a year off is needed to “evolve the game mechanics” of everyone’s favourite historical murder simulator series.

“This year, we also are stepping back and re-examining the Assassin’s Creed franchise. As a result, we’ve decided that there will not be a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2016. Since the release of Assassin’s Creed Unity, we’ve learned a lot based on your feedback,” a post from the publisher read at the time. “We’ve also updated our development processes and recommitted to making Assassin’s Creed a premier open-world franchise.”
With a wealth of new games hitting the shelves both digital and physical from September onwards, it’s safe to say that Ubisoft will probably release this early next year in the run up to its next new Assassin’s Creed game that’s possibly going to take place in Egypt.

iPhone 7 Release Date, Price, Specifications, and All Other Leaks

iPhone 7 Release Date, Price, Specifications, and All Other Leaks

HIGHLIGHTS

  • iPhone 7 is expected to be unveiled on September 7
  • The new iPhone models are unlikely to bring major design changes
  • iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are tipped to get storage bumps

After a long wait, we officially know the release date for the iPhone 7, probably the most anticipated smartphone of the year. Apple has sent out invitations for a special event on September 7, where it is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The iPhone 7 is not expected to see any major design tweaks, and is tipped to look similar to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, a departure from Apple’s traditional tick-tock cycle. Initial rumours had suggested that to emphasise the minimal upgrades in this year’s offerings, Apple might call the next iPhone the iPhone 6SE, though the prominent placement of ‘7th’ on the invite should put those rumours to bed.

iPhone 7 price
Apple is expected to keep the same price points as previous generations for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, with of course a large premium for the top-end 256GB variant. Another leak tips pricing of the rumoured variants – the 32GB variant of the iPhone 7 is said to be priced at CNY 5,288 (roughly Rs. 52,900), the 64GB variant at CNY 6,088 (roughly Rs. 60,900), and the 256GB at CNY 7,088 (roughly Rs. 70,900). The iPhone 7 Plus is expected to be priced at CNY 6,088 (roughly Rs. 60,900) for the 32GB variant, CNY 6,888 (roughly Rs. 68,900) for the 128GB variant, and CNY 7,888 (roughly Rs. 78,900) for the256GB variant.

The iPhone 7 price in India is expected to bear a slight premium over a direct conversion, as always.

iPhone 7 launch date
Noted tipster Evan Blass has maintained that the iPhone will be launched in the week of September 12, to a specific September 16 launch date for the US market, which means that is the date it will become available in the market. Later on, it was reported that the pre-orders will begin on September 9, both of which are in line with the September 7 unveiling.

iPhone 7 specifications
Apple has traditionally employed a single iPhone version number across two years, adding an ‘s’ to mark an iterative improvement in the second, such as the iPhone 6s with respect to the iPhone 6. The company with the iPhone 6 in 2014 also started introducing two models a generation, with one catering to small screen aficionados, and the other ‘Plus’ variant providing a phablet-style large display. It is expected to do so this year as well.

Apart from the confusion surrounding the name, most other rumours are rather plausible. The next iPhone is expected to feature camera improvements in both models, with the smaller 4.7-inch offering tipped to get optical image stabilisation, and the larger 5.5-inch offering tipped to sport a dual camera setup. The Cupertino giant is expected to use a new Apple A10 SoC to power both devices, with the company also rumoured to bump up the memory alongside to 3GB of RAM.

Apple is also anticipated to bump up the base storage variant from 16GB to 32GB. Alongside the upgraded base storage rumour, the company is expected to boost the storage capacity of the top-end variant from 128GB to 256GB. The 64GB variant is also anticipated to be replaced by the 128GB variant – thus, we can expect Apple to release its next-generation iPhone models in 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage variants.

Another rumour that is seeing fewer and fewer contradictory reports as time passes, is the removal of the 3.5mm audio jack on the next iPhone models. Apple is speculated to have made the decision to do away with the current standard for audio connectivity for three reasons – to ensure the next model is very slim; to ensure the next model is waterproof (thus has minimal, easy-to-protect ports); and to give users better audio quality through the Lightning port instead. The Lightning port can also power active noise cancellation in headphones that offer it. The company is variously also rumoured to include aLightning-to-3.5mm adapter in the box, or Lightning-power EarPods instead. The removal of the jack may see the addition of dual-speaker grilles as well.

Apple is also rumoured to boost the display resolution of its next iPhone models. The current iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus sport resolutions of 750×1334 pixels and 1080×1920 pixels currently, while the corresponding iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to sport resolutions of 1080×1920 pixels and 1440×2560 pixels respectively. Apple is also tipped to include a Space Black variant this time around, though a Space Blue variant was also rumoured alongside the removal of the Space Grey colour option.

Finally, Apple is expected to make the next iPhone available in its stores in the US from September 16, with carrier availability tipped for September 23.

Pokemon Go Out in 15 Countries Across Asia and Oceania; India Release Date Soon?

Pokemon Go Out in 15 Countries Across Asia and Oceania; India Release Date Soon?

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Pokemon Go is now available in 15 countries across Asia and Oceania
  • The news comes via the official Pokemon Go Facebook page
  • With third-party services disabled, expect an India launch soon

Following the release of Pokemon Go in Brazil and Japan, now 15 more countries can now catch Pokemon officially.

“Trainers in 15 new countries and regions across Asia and Oceania can now officially download Pokemon Go from the Play Store or App Store. Discover Pokemon in the world around you,” a post on the official Pokemon Go Facebook page reads.

(Also see: Pokemon Go Player? Here’s How Much Mobile Data You Can Expect to Burn)

These countries include: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.

Last week, Pokemon Go developer Niantic revealed the reason for the game’s delayed launch in countries such as India. “We have limited access by third-party services which were interfering with our ability to maintain quality of service for our users and to bring Pokemon Go to users around the world. The large number of users has made the roll-out of Pokemon Go around the world an… interesting… challenge,” admits the company, reiterating its desire to bring the game to other nations.

(Also see: How to Download Pokemon Go APK, Install, and Play on Android)

Most of these third-party services such as Pokevision are now unusable after the latest Pokemon Go update. Plus, there’s the added side-effect of being unable to catch Pokemon while commuting or on a bike. It’s just a matter of time before the likes of China and India receive Pokemon Go as developer Niantic has cleared what it deemed were impediments to a release of the game in every country officially. Not like the absence of an official release has stopped eager fans from playing it as we’ve seen in the past few weeks.

Pokemon Go International Release Date Soon: Report

Pokemon Go International Release Date Soon: Report

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Pokemon Go may be made available in other regions soon
  • This might result in an official Indian launch as well
  • Pokemon Go is only officially out in Australia, New Zealand and the US

At the moment, Pokemon Go is only available officially in Australia, New Zealand, and the US, unless of course you plan to sideload it on Android or have an iTunes account for the aforementioned regions. This might change.

According to The Wall Street Journal, you can expect it in your country soon. It claims that “people familiar with plans for the game said it would likely be available in other regions, including Europe, Japan, and other Asian nations within a few days.”

This bodes well for an official Indian release. Even more so when you consider that previous Nintendo efforts such as Miitomo have ignored the country altogether.

(Also see: Pokemon Go Tips and Tricks)

The news comes days after developer Niantic had to pause Pokemon Go’s global rollout due to server overcapacity.

The impact of players in other countries sideloading the game, in addition to those in countries where Pokemon Go is available, is that the game has been uplayable for a vast number of people due to its servers unable to deal with the load. So much so that developer Niantic who made Pokemon Go along with Nintendo and The Pokemon Company is delaying its release in other markets till this is fixed.

(Also see: Pokemon Go Is Installed on More Android Phones Than Tinder: Report)

“We thought the game would be popular, but it obviously struck a nerve,” Niantic CEO John Hanke said to Business Insider, stating that the launch in other countries has been “paused until we’re comfortable”. Despite the rabid interest the franchise has generated over the years, something Niantic is aware of, it has been caught by surprise.
